We noticed the following funny post on Twitter and it reminded us of one of the benefits of owning a hot tub. Mr. Wright kindly gave us permission to share it in our blog:

“I once had a conversation with a marathoner while in a hottub. She looked me up and down and started talking to me about diet and exercise. She said “The best part about being a runner is you can eat whatever you want.” I said, “That’s also the best part about being fat.” — @markeology

Mark’s funny tweet reminded us about the benefits of using tubs to support weight loss. Studies show that while warm water immersion and hot tubs (hydrotherapy) aren’t thought of as substitutes for an overall healthy regime, taking a spa soak does help with those healthy habits.

For example, the sense of well-being one gets from a hot tub’s hydrotherapy contributes to not needing as much to eat because of feeling more content.

In addition, the hydrotherapy improves cardiovascular performance, so you find exercising easier to do. Plus, other studies show that a soak in a hot tub actually burns calories.
