It’s not too late to get your hot tub-loving Dad something fun for Father’s Day this Sunday. To help, we’ve compiled a short list of our favorite fun gadgets/games that we think he’ll use long after Father’s Day is over.

Spabrellas

Help Dad stay cool with a spabrella. They come in a variety of styles and colors and will not only keep him cooler in the summer heat, but these umbrellas will fend of rain and snow as well.

There are a wide variety of spabrellas available on the internet. The Cover Valet Spa Side Umbrella we show here allows for an adjustable angle tilt which is helpful as the sun moves across the sky. Tip: In order to be sure it will work with your particular spa’s shape, a good idea is to choose a spabrella that has an under mount design.

Of course, if you have a Bullfrog Spa, and we (ahem) hope you do, you can always check with our showroom staff in Westbury, Farmingdale and Windham, NY, for helpful ideas.

Bird Beverage Floating Boats

Is Dad the type to mix functionality with a little whimsy? Then a floating beverage boat in the shape of a bird might be just the thing for Father’s Day. The tropical bird group from Big Mouth Inc. (pictured here) offers a 3-pack, including a black swan.

The manufacturer says that the floats inflate quickly and are easy to clean.

By the way, if you have more than one different looking bird like this 3-pack offers, Dad will always know which drink is his. Tip: Leaving drinks on the hot tub’s edge could make it easy for them to be knocked over when there’s a lot of activity going on, so a floating beverage boat is truly  practical as well as whimsical.

Waterproof Board Games.

Last week’s blog focused on how much fun it is to use the hot tub in summer and suggested that waterproof board games are a good idea. Well we can think of no better time to get some of these than as last-minute gifts for Father’s Day.

One waterproof multi-game board offers the ability to play checkers, chess and even backgammon in one neat set; and how about “splash cards”  for card playing, or a toss bean bag game board with LED lights. Whatever board game Dad likes most is probably available in a waterproof version.

Misting System

Another thing we mentioned in last week’s blog was the benefits of keeping cool on hot summer days in the spa. (Yes, you can turn down the spa water to a cool refreshing temperature for summer use.)

That said, when the sun’s beating down, and even if you have a spabrella, on those really hot days, Dad will want a bit of cooling mist for the upper body that is not immersed in the cool hot tub water.

The MistyMate Nozzle Cool Patio Misting System (shown here) comes pre-assembled and the manufacturer says it “delivers a continuous stream of ultra-fine mist.” Here’s to keeping cool and hot tubbing at the same time!

Pool and Spa Valet

Want to help Dad indulge his every whim while he’s soaking in his hot tub? This pool and spa valet stand might not be up to Downton Abbey-style standards (as, alas, no human butler is included), but a stand-up spa valet like this one from Bed Bath & Beyond will hold his sunglasses, keys, beverages, etc., and 6 wind clips holds towels in place.

According to manufacturers, this valet is easy to assemble and its space-saving design means it should fit easily near any hot tub.

Happy Father’s Day, everyone!
