“One key question remains, however: who should keep it in optimal shape,” asks Bill Renter, owner of Best Hot Tubs.

It seems New Yorkers are answering that question with: it should be Best Hot Tubs! For we began our maintenance service a few years ago with approximately 25 customers. Today, our client base has grown to over 300 in our coverage areas — Long Island, various New York city boroughs and environs, as well as the Catskills.

“To keep our technicians up to date,” says Bill, “we regularly train them in the latest information available. That includes for regular maintenance — how to keep hot tubs pristine and operating well — but also for major repairs when needed.”

As you can see from the photo group below, we’ve even been known to bring a hot tub to the closest Best Hot Tubs showroom where, with the help of a forklift, we raise the spa into a position so our repair staff can get into the plumbing, etc. to solve the issues.

“We are making significant repairs,” adds Bill, “not just the change of a pump or fixing a drip. We literally cut open the bottom of the hot tub base to see where leaks are and deal with hundreds of feet of plumbing, etc. Our team has dome some unbelievably difficult repairs, when years ago we would have to have told the customer they’d need to get a new hot tub. Our guys have gotten really good at fixing what used to be the unfixable.”

As a final thought, Bill says that most of our technicians have taken the three-day course to be certified. The few haven’t done it yet are new hires, but will join next year’s course. They are all expert at doing not just weekly maintenance that includes a change of water every three months but winterizing as well.

“Beyond purchasing a superb quality hot tub, which we offer, many find it a great relief to have experts like us worry about its water quality and full maintenance — no matter the weather.”

Even hot tub owners who did not purchase their spa through Best Hot Tubs are signing up.

What does a weekly hot tub service include?

Depending on the need at the time of visit, maintenance can involve the following:

— hot tub cleaning and vacuuming

— cleaning the filters,

— checking and maintaining the proper chemical balance,

— draining and filling the spa,

— scouring the inside of the tub;

— making or fixing any technical problems.

“You might say that we operate our weekly hot tub service like the post office — neither rain, sleet, heat, nor gloom of night will prevent us keeping your hot tub in shape,” says Bill.

Indeed. Here’s a few-second video of one of our service tech’s fixing a Bullfrog Spa in bad weather. Our own hot tub and spa expert, Bill Renter, is along and even catches a pot of gold!
